Homemade Art

I spent a long time scouring over art and trying to decide which piece I wanted to place in the massage clinic. I was unable to find something with the exact look and heart felt meaning that I wanted to capture. After plenty of searching I decided that what better way to have a piece of art that truly meant something to me than to have my children paint it!

First I chose my colours. I used 4 different shades of blue. I painted the entire canvas this purplish blue and then let it dry.

Then I gave my eldest the first go at it with the darkest shade of blue. I told her to do whatever she felt like doing,

Her finished piece.

I then gave the first born twin a moderate shade of blue and let her go to town!

Her finished product!

Finally, I mixed up a very light blue for the youngest (by 11minutes) twin to put on top.

I think that she enjoyed this the most, she was very meticulous about where she placed each of her strokes.

And Voila, our finished piece, complete with some finger marks and a hand print in the corner.

I had planned on letting it dry and then letting them add some more to it but once I got it on the wall I decided that I liked it just the way it was and that it was complete! Doing the dark to the light allows the colours to show up more!

Happy Painting!
