Please know that not all oils are created equally. I had been using essential oils for 8 years before I happened upon doTerra. I was shocked at the results I had from their oils over other brands I had been using.

Unfortunately, Essential Oils are not regulated. Any company can claim to have "pure" "therapeutic grade" essential oils. Because of this there are a tonne of Essential Oil companies that are not using proper extraction methods nor testing their oils. They are putting additives into their oils and distilling the plants numerous times to get the most bang for their buck and then calling their oils "therapeutic grade". It's descerning. I have even found essential oils claiming to be pure but listing other ingredients right on the label, hiding in plain site?! Honestly, the whole idea of researching which oil companies are best is frustrating and exhausting. I was so happy when I found doTerra, a company I could truly trust. There is a tonne of testing, research and development that goes into all of their products. 

 

doTerra's oils are called "Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils." Basically, this title is a trade mark that only they can use. They created a standard of quality control for their oils and only oils that they test and find to be pure can be labeled with CPTG.​ The trade marked thing sounded sketchy to me at first, but the more I learned about it I realized, really, what are they supposed to do in a market that has no standards? They created a standard and then made it so no one else could wrongfully claim to be following their standard. It makes sense. For me, personally, why doTerra? 

 

I chose doTerra because, I have had much better results with their oils than any other oil I have tried. The fact that their company is also awesome is just an added bonus. It was merely a fluke, I had a friend give me a sample of Easy Air to try out for my twins' asthma and it worked, so I signed up to buy the Family Physician Enrollment Kit (now called the Essential Collections Kit) which includes the top 10 oils that every home should have. After I was already enrolled I did some research on doTerra and it turns out that the people who run doTerra are awesome, giving and caring people on top of making the best oils I have personally ever found. This realization helped me decide that I wanted to be part of the business side of doTerra as well. I felt that I had found a truly amazing healthcare solution for my family, provided by a wonderful company and I had a responsibility to share.
